The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and has already announced that he will be departing the Weserstadion.

Hoffenheim boss Markus Babbel claimed last week that his club are competing with Madrid, Inter and AC Milan for Wiese's services and the player has now admitted that Los Blancos are keen to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

"If such a story comes into circulation, there is usually some truth in it," the 30-year-old toldSyke. "There is contact between Real and my agent."

Wiese hinted that while nothing has been finalised, he is likely to end up rejecting the advances of Hoffenheim in favour of a move abroad.

"The international option appeals to me, of course, as those [La Liga and Serie A] are great leagues," he confessed.

"But there are many factors which play a role in such a decision, such as the family. I must think carefully."

Wiese, who has been capped six times by his country, is leaving Werder after seven seasons with the club.
